Sweetie & The Toothaches

 

Sweetie & The Toothaches have become the premier jump blues, barrelhouse blues and boogie woogie group in St. Louis. The group strives to bring their audiences (and dancers) music that is authentic to the 1920's - 1950's in order to keep the blues of the time period alive. Not only is this group of artists comprised of Sweetie, Belter of the Blues and Chase Garrett, international Boogie Woogie and Blues Pianist, but they also have horns that wail and rhythm that drives. Their powerful, exciting and sultry sound will bring your creativity to life as they long to keep you dancing to their vibrant tunes.

Brennan Bowman:
 
Brennan's obsession with jazz and blues began back in his young adolescent years but it wasn't until 2009 that he started on his journey of playing for dance floors. Having honed his skills beginning in college swing clubs all over the midwest, he has now spun at regional and national events including The Winter Blues, Steel City Blues, Lindy on the Rocks, and Hawkeye Swing Festival In addition, he is the lead organizer for the Chicago Underground Blues Exchange (CUBE) . Brennan continually strives to find new (and old) music that inspires and challenges dancers to create art in all dance forms. So whether you like it fast or slow, groovy or chunky, boisterous or sweet, Brennan is ready to bring the party to Dance St. Lou Blue 2016! 
Connor Cole 
 
Connor Cole is a blues dancer from Ann Arbor, Michigan. After starting swing dancing with a simple East Coast Swing class in his hometown of Fairbanks, Alaska, Connor DJed and danced at blues and swing dances while living in several major dance scenes, including Seattle, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.. In Ann Arbor, he organizes the DJing for weekly dances, teaches Lindy Hop classes, and gets out dancing as frequently as he can. Having done social dancing for close to 7 years, he is passionate about sharing his love for many different styles of dancing, and excited to be contributing Dance St. Lou Blue 2016!
